The sixth Tour de Menlo kicked off between 8:00 and 10:00 am this morning from Menlo-Atherton High School and riders – whether they were pedaling the 65-, 46- or 35-mile route – headed west on Valparaiso. They planned to gather for lunch at Picchetti Ranch before returning to the high school. The ride is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Menlo Park and the Almanac. Proceeds from the event benefit Rotary scholarships and tutoring programs.
Post event update: Organizers said this year’s Tour had the highest participation ever – of the more than 500 who had registered, 481 checked in at the start.
