I heard that some people came as far away as Oakland to hear Alisa live. Several days later attendees told me they "loved the Strayhorn program" and were motivated to research "Stray" (as Alisa called him) on the Internet, buy CD's, and sign up for local jazz history classes. The Strayhorn program and countless other adult and children's offerings are made possible due to the generosity of our wonderful Friends of the Menlo Park Library (FOL). The Friends is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that depends on its members. March begins the membership drive. Call 330-2521 or www.friendsmpl.org for more info.
