On a what might have been a typically big shopping Sunday the weekend before Christmas, attendance was sparse this morning. Many slots were empty and shoppers moved quickly, making their purchases between the intermittent squalls. Vendors like Coke Farms (pictured left) improvised, using their truck to shelter their organic greens and other vegetables.
Not surprisingly, San Francisquito Creek is roaring. Reports InMenlo weather watcher Bill Russ (as of 10:30 am, about the same time the Creek photo was snapped): “My season to date total is now 7.15″. That includes a measurement of .4″ Saturday afternoon and 1.75″ overnight and this morning. A year ago the total was 5.75″ and the Christmas week and beyond was dry.”
Unlike last year, this year’s forecast is for continued wet from now through Christmas.
