Learn about the importance of child’s play

Challenge Success co-founder Jim Lobdell will be talking about the importance of play in healthy child development from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Las Lomitas School’s Cano Hall. Child development experts agree that unstructured play is crucial to the development of  21st century skills like creativity, adaptability, resilience and collaboration. The interactive presentation will help parents:

  • Explore the immediate and long term benefits of play
  • Identify the barriers that make it difficult today for kids to “just play”
  • Discover practical way to allow kids more time for unstructured play.

Challenge Success is a Stanford University-based national research and intervention project for K-12 schools to counter the causes of academic stress. Jim Lobdell is the author of Bring Learning Alive! Engaging All Learners in the Diverse Classroom and an adviser to the Positive Coaching Alliance.
