How you can make a positive impact on foster youth

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on February 16, 2011

A Night For Abigail, a community conversation about foster youth, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 7:oo to 9:00 p.m. at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center. According to organizers, while the aspirations of foster youth are high, outcomes are grim. Thirty percent of foster youth perform below grade level, 50% are held back in school, 46% do not complete high school, and only 3% complete college. You’re invited to come and find out how you can do one small thing to change the outcome for these students. This free event is sponsored by the Sequoia Union High School District, CA 17th District PTA, CASA of San Mateo County, and Help One Child.
