Tween, teen events at Menlo Park Library this week

Events of interest to tweens and teens are taking place at the Menlo Park Library this week:

Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 pm – Two young adult writers, Cassandra Clare and Holly Black are making a joint appearance. “Love, blood, betrayal and revenge – the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels, the fourth book in Cassandra Clare’s bestselling series The Mortal Instruments.  Noir author Holly Black continues the fantasy and suspense of The Curse Worker series with Red Glove, the sequel to White Cat.”

Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 pm – The Incorrigible Children series by Maryrose Wood appeals to 5th-8th graders. The author will talk about the latest installment, The Hidden Gallery,which “finds the trio of Alexander, Beowulf and Cassiopeia Incorrigible and Miss Penelope Lumley roaming through London. New opportunities to educate the feral children abound while secrets of their wild past reveal themselves!”

Both of these author events are made possible by Kepler’s Books.

April 6 – May 9, 2011 – Youth age 12-18 can get a chance to win a $25 entertainment card from AMC Theaters by stopping by the Just Teens section at the library  to fill out a Summer Book Club Survey. Limit one entry per patron.  Surveys can be turned in at the Children’s Reference Desk no later than Monday, May 9, 2011.  The winner will be notified by email or phone on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
