Fifty participants shot 7,200 free throws, raising over $6,000, at the local Hoops of Hope held on April 2 at Menlo-Atherton High School, reports event organizer Rich Branning. The money helps children orphaned by AIDs in Zambia. The current round of fundraising will be used to build staff housing and a computer lab, “enriching the school and lives of the community,” emailed Branning. The next local Hoops of Hope is scheduled for March 2012.
