The weather report indicates cooler than average temperatures over the three day holiday weekend. But given that it’s the start of the summer season, locals may start thinking about a trip to the beach. To guide your selections, the environmental group Heal the Bay has just issued its annual water report card, and 16 beaches out of the 23 in San Mateo County were rated A+ in both wet and dry conditions. They are Bean Hollow Sate Beach, Coyote Point, Dunes Beach, Francis Beach at the foot of the steps, Gazoz Beach at Gazos Creek, Linda Mar Beach at San Pedro Creek, Montara State Beach at Martini Creek, Oyster Point, Pescadero State Beach at Pescadero Creek, Pomponio State Beach at Pomponio Creek, Rockaway Beach at Calera Creek, Roosevelt Beach (south end of parking lot), San Gregorio State Beach at San Gregorio Creek, Sharp Park Beach (projection of Birch Lane), Sharp Park Beach (projection of San Jose Ave.), and Venice Beach at Frenchman’s Creek.
