Spotted: Early Blessing of the Animals

At Trinity Church this morning, dozens of dogs — along with stuffed animals of all variety — were given blessings in honor of the Feast of St.Francis of Assisi, which is October 4. The special mass, a Trinity tradition, was held early this year to coincide with the church’s last outdoor service of the season. For those whose pets missed out on the event, look for other local churches to offer celebrations next Sunday.
