Menlo Park resident Jim Fadiman will read from his latest book, The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, on Friday, Sept. 30 at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology located at 1069 East Meadow Circle in Palo Alto. A reception begins at 5:30, the program at 6:30. Reads the Institute commentary: “Jim Fadiman, called ‘America’s wisest and most respected authority on psychedelics and their use,’ reviews the value of psychedelics for healing and self-discovery as well as how LSD has facilitated scientific and technical problem-solving. Fadiman outlines best practices for safe, sacred entheogenic voyages learned through his more than 40 years of experience and research on psychedelics in his guide to the immediate and long-term effects of psychedelic use for spiritual (high dose), therapeutic (moderate dose), and problem-solving (low dose) purposes.” The program is free and open to all; donations to support the James Fadiman Scholarship Fund are welcome. RSVPs are encouraged.
