The Meals on Wheels program run by Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. will reap the benefits when people dine at one of 50 plus San Mateo County restaurants on Tuesday, October 4. Participating restaurants will donate 10% of each check to the program, and diners will also have the opportunity to make donations that go directly to the Meals on Wheels program.
Menlo Park restaurants that are participating include Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria, Ann’s Coffee Shop, Bistro Vida, Bona Restaurant, British Bankers Club, Carpaccio, Cedro Ristorante, Celia’s Mexican Restaurant, El Cerrito Mexican Restaurant, Gambardella’s, Luttickens After 5, Menlo Grill Bistro & Bar, Oak City Bar and Grill, Ristorante Mataro, Round Table Pizza and Trellis Restaurant. Since 1978 Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. has provided Meals on Wheels service in San Mateo County. The service
delivers hot, nutritious meals to eligible seniors and disabled adults who are unable to shop and prepare food. Each year over 150,000 meals, over 300 per weekday, are prepared and delivered by staff and volunteers. Service is received on a donation-only basis from the participants,and no one is ever denied service based on their inability to donate.
