Volunteers needed for Willow Oaks playground project

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on October 6, 2011

Willow Oaks playground build day

A new playground will be built in a day at Willow Oaks School in Menlo Park, thanks to volunteers from SAP America, Adobe, the Ravenswood City School District, and local residents. Organized by KaBOOM!, there’s plenty of room for more volunteers at the event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19. If interested, contact Willow Oaks School principal Cindy Chin at (650) 329-2850.

The playground’s design is based on drawings created by children who participated in a Design Day event in August.

The new playground will provide more than 600 children at Willow Oaks School with a safe place to play. Currently, the children attending the school only have 20-plus year old playground equipment.

No experience is required to volunteer, and there are jobs for people of all ages and abilities. Food and drink will be provided.
