Long known for their popular holiday tea for children, the Atherton Dames are hosting a first ever children’s Halloween party on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Holbrook-Palmer Park in Atherton. Children, who are advised to come in costume, will be treated to a ventriloquist show, The Corny Crow with Steve Chaney, at 2:30 pm. From 3:00 to 4:00 there will be Halloween treats, mini muffins and tea sandwiches, and kids can get their photos taken in the pumpkin patch and decorate a pumpkin.

“I’ve always wanted to do another tea since it sells out every year,” said Dames president Inna Beardsley. “But it’s difficult to do them back-to-back or even a week apart. So we thought of doing a Halloween party which is five weeks before the tea.”

Tickets are $35 for one child age 2 to 12 with an adult; $15 for each additional child or adult. Children under two (sitting on a lap) with an adult are $20. Prepaid reservations are due by October 23; to reserve email
