A String and a Prayer: Creating Prayer Beads is a program scheduled for Wednesday, March 7 that will give participants an opportunity to create a grounding tool for personal prayer practice and gain an understanding of the use of beads. The workshop, lead by Eleanor Wiley, will start at 6:45 pm and be held at Trinity Church ( 330 Ravenswood Ave.) in Menlo Park. A simple supper precedes the presentation at 6:15 pm.

Wiley has been creating contemporary prayer beads and leading workshops around the world for the past 14 years. She’s created personal prayers beads for His Holiness the Dali Lama, Nelson Mandala and others as well developed the Sacred Wheel of Peace, which will be given to participants at the workshop to anchor their prayer strand. All materials are supplied and the workshop is open to the community.

Childcare will be provided; the church appreciates advance registration in order to plan for dinner and childcare.
