Anyone who ventured to downtown Menlo Park this morning faced a mini traffic jam what with multiple services at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church and St. Raymond Church. Cars were parked well into the residential portion of Santa Cruz Ave., including one BMW that was dressed up as an Easter Bunny of sorts.
Unlike yesterday’s massive city-sponsored egg hunt, this morning’s hunts took place in residents’ back yards. And also unlike yesterday, kids were put to the test of actually discovering where the eggs where hiding amidst plants and shrubbery.
Special treats were in store for families who opted for Easter brunch at Madera restaurant at the Rosewood Hotel. The Easter Bunny himself was on hand (undoubtedly in need of refreshment after making the rounds) and there was a petting zoo where kids could get up close and personal with young farm animals. We particularly like the young man with the green tie and how earnestly we has attending to a sleeping piglet.
