Last Call at the Oasis

In advance of its theatrical release, the documentary film Last Call at the Oasis will screen at Trinity Church in Menlo Park (330 Ravenswood Ave.) on Saturday, April 21 at 7:00 pm. The eve-of-Earth-Day screening is free and open to the community.

The film posits that the global water crisis will be the central issue facing our world this century. It exposes defects in the current system, shows communities already struggling with ill-effects and highlights individuals championing new solutions. The Menlo Park screening is sponsored by Trinity Church and Interfaith Power & Light.

Last Call at the Oasis is the latest film from the people behind An Inconvenient Truth, Food, Inc. and Waiting for Superman. Directed by Academy Award winner (and Gunn High School grad) Jessica Yu, the film features stunning cinematography and interviews with scientists and activists, including Erin Brockovich.  UC Berkeley Professor of Integrative Biology, Tyrone Hayes appears in the film and will lead a discussion after the showing over refreshments.  The movie trailer is below.
