New Menlo Park Library website created specifically for teens

When the Menlo Park Library Teen Advisory Group (TAG) members noticed that they did not have an online presence, two members stepped in and started to create what would later become the Menlo Park Library’s TAG website.

The Teen Advisory Group consists of a group of teen volunteers who strive to provide an environment in which teens can express their ideas about how to improve the library.  After months of hard work and dedication, the TAG site has been approved by the City of Menlo Park and is currently being managed and updated almost daily by the entire TAG group.

The site is meant to be a place where teens can go to get the latest news about what is going on in the Menlo Park library for teens, updates on summer reading, and announcements about new and exciting websites that teens can use to broaden their education. Most recently, TAG hosted a Spring Teen Photography contest and used the website to publicize, announce, and show the many creative photographs from the contest.

In addition, in the surge to have a stronger online presence, a TAG member created an online application for people who are interested in being part of the TAG group to use. And now that summer reading is coming around, people who are interested in helping out with the potluck at the end of summer reading event can sign up online to bring their favorite dish to the big Own the Night Party.
