Nominations being accepted for City of Menlo Park’s Environmental Quality Awards

The City of Menlo Park’s Environmental Quality Commission is now accepting nominations from community members for the 2012 Environmental Quality Awards. Awards are given for people, projects, efforts or property designs that contribute to environmental quality improvement in Menlo Park.

In 2011, an award was presented to two homeowners, Tavinder Wadhwa and Vivek Wadhwa for Menlo Passive in the categories of educational and sustainable building as the first passive home in San Mateo County.

Award nominations are due Monday, January 14th, 2013. The nomination form includes detailed descriptions of each category and past awardees’ information and can be downloaded from the Environmental Programs webpage Award categories include: Climate Action, Educational, Heritage Tree, Landscape or Native Habitat, Resource Conservation and Sustainable Building.
