Grab Bag Theater kids are back with The Wizard of Oz

Post image for Grab Bag Theater kids are back with The Wizard of Oz The student-run theater group, Grab Bag, is presenting The Wizard of Oz the next two weekends — May 16-17 and May 23-24. Performances will be held at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center in Redwood City at 7:30 pm with an additional 1:00 pm matinee on May 24. In major roles are a number of Menlo-Atherton High School students, including (pictured right to left): Harper Wood (Wicked Witch of the West), Henri Wood (Galinda), Caroline Fenyo (Mayor of MunchkindLand), Taylor Mendiola (Lollipop Guild),  Nathan Walker (Wizard of Oz), and Katie Weiner (Aunt Em). GBT's mission is to provide youth with opportunities to perform and develop the skills to produce shows independently on the San Francisco Peninsula. GBT produces an annual theatrical season with at least one full-scale play or musical, puts teenage students in all positions of leadership and performance, hosts performing arts festivals, and provides resources for youth theater startups.

A fun play and a motivated, talented group of students! Good job for starting something from scratch and making it work for 3 years.
