Husband and wife Susan and Sanford Carnahan are having their first joint exhibit of photographs. The photos are on display at the Atherton Library through August 30, and the Menlo Park-based couple will be giving a talk at the Library on Sunday, July 13 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

Emails Susan: “Sandy has 18 images on display, mostly night photos of Mare Island, Oracle’s headquarters, and China.

“My 22 images are of five crane species from Japan, China, Russia, and the U.S, and are part of my project to photograph all 15 species, most of which are endangered.

“The White-naped Crane  (top) was taken at Zhalong Nature Reserve in Northeast China in 2011 on a trip with the International Crane Foundation (ICF).”

Sanford’s photo (below) is an HDR image of Pudong II taken in Shanghai in 2012.

The Atherton Library is located at 2 Dinkelspiel Lane.
