In June 2014, eleven Silicon Valley mayors traveled to China to establish connections with Chinese government and business leaders. The trip’s mission was to facilitate future investment and international trade between China and the Silicon Valley region.
Join Mayor Ray Mueller today (8/19) from 5:00 to 6:00 pm in the City Council Chambers (701 Laurel St.) as he shares his experience as one of the 11 mayors invited to travel to China and represent the Silicon Valley region.
As innovation in China takes off, Chinese companies are increasingly looking outside of China for business opportunities and technology partnerships. Silicon Valley is known for attracting top researchers, engineers, and developers from around the world and is a perfect environment for the growth of creative ideas.
The mayors visited Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Shenzhen during their journey. Mayor Mueller will provide the story of his trip and how this important venture benefits Menlo Park and the surrounding region.
The trip was sponsored by China Silicon Valley, a California non-profit corporation committed to promoting investment and business communication and cooperation between China and the Silicon Valley.
