by Contributed Content on May 12, 2015

On May 17, 2015, the Menlo Park-based Bay Area Association of Kidney Patients will present the second installment of the Charles & Joan Horngren Kidney Education Series. The featured speaker will be Risa Simon, founder and CEO of TransplantFirst Academy and The Proactive Path. As a preemptive kidney transplant patient, Risa discovered an alarming void of kidney patient education and support. She now shares her discoveries with Chronic Kidney Disease patients and hopeful kidney Transplant recipients.

This free event takes place from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, 795 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94301. There will be a reception with refreshments, opportunities to meet with other kidney patients and door prizes too! To reserve a seat, go to www.baakp.org or call 650-323-2225.

Founded in 2007, The Bay Area Association of Kidney Patients’ mission is to educate and support Bay Area kidney patients. Activities include regular speakers, a quarterly newsletter, small patient support groups and an interactive web site at www.baakp.org. The Family of Charles & Joan Horngren are underwriting this BAAKP Educational Presentation. Mr. Horngren was a patient of Dr. Toby Gottheiner at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
