First there was wind, then there was rain — sometimes accompanied by thunder and lightening. Quite a wild 24 hours in Menlo Park.
Yesterday morning the wind was blowing so hard that the light rain that was falling dried almost the minute it hit a body (this one while jogging at Bedwell Bayfront).
Late afternoon finally brought significant rain which continued off and on throughout the night.
“A surprising .8″ in my gauge this morning —more than predicted,” reports InMenlo weather watcher Bill Russ. “So, my season-to-date total is now 12.9″. Recall I am comparing to rain year 2010-2011, which had a full rain-year total of 21.3″. At this date in February, 2011, my number was 14.3″.”
One question to be answered for those out and about today post rain and wind: Did the magnificent Magnolia trees in bloom around town survive the storm with blooms intact?
