The Woodside Day of the Horse will take place on Saturday, October 8, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Woodside Town Hall, 2955 Woodside Road. This year’s theme is “Saturday Night at the Movies.”
The event has two main components, The Horse Fair in downtown Woodside and the Progressive Trail Ride for experienced riders and their horses. Admission to the Horse Fair is free while a small registration fee/donation is required for the Progressive Trail Ride, which is one of the largest trail rides in the Western US.
Donations from riders and sponsors have allowed the Woodside-area Horse Owners Associtaiont (WHOA!) to gift over $110,000 to projects including the restoration of the historic Folger Stable, the Woodside Junior Riders program, and for the maintenance of equestrian and pedestrian trails in both the Woodside Trail system and in Huddart Park.
