In June of last year, M-A High School Football Coach Adhir Ravipati spoke to the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club at one of its regular Tuesday luncheons. He explained how he had established a program to create a culture of support in academics and life skills as well as athletics at the school. The program provides academic support for players and scholarships for them to attend university summer camps. The Menlo Park Kiwanis Club recently contributed $5,000 to the Menlo-Atherton Football Association for this student athlete program.

“The Kiwanis mission has always been to support youth in our community,” said Brian Rigonan, president of the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club. “This seemed to be something we could do thanks to this year’s successful Christmas Tree Lot sales. In addition, several

M-A football players came on the weekends to help serve customers at the lot, and they were a big help. It’s only right that we help Coach Ravipati grow this great program.”

For more than 40 years, the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club has provided college scholarships to Menlo-Atherton graduating seniors, based on academic performance. “More than $1.1 million has been awarded to M-A students during the lifetime of the Club’s scholarship program,” Rogonan added.
