In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB), M-A students are collecting food from the community to help feed several hundred families in our area. The drive continues through Dec. 7.

M-A students will collect cans at the following locations:
– Bianchini’s in Ladera
– Cardenas Market in East Palo Alto
– Delucchi’s Market in Redwood City
– Draeger’s in Menlo Park
– Robert’s Market in Portola Valley
– Safeway stores on El Camino and in Sharon Heights
– Trader Joe’s in Menlo Park
– Whole Foods in Palo Alto
– Willows Market in Menlo Park

When you are shopping for your family, please add extra cans to your cart and drop them into the SHFB barrels. M-A sophomores Serena (left in photo) and Samantha, who were outside Trader Joe’s earlier this afternoon pointed out that toilet paper is needed along with foodstuffs. You can also donate online.

Canned Food Drive Fun Facts:
– 238,000+ pounds of food collected in 2017
– Largest public school food drive in the country
– Recipients of the Golden Apple Award and Blue Diamond Award from SHFB
– Winner of Outstanding Drive Coordinator goes to Mike Amoroso
– Legendary Coach Ben Parks started the food drive in 1999, raising 5,000 cans that year
– 4th year in a row Facebook has donated 2800+ reusable grocery bags
– Distribution to families takes place on Saturday, December 8
