Post image for Karae Lisle is new Peninsula Volunteers CEO

Menlo Park resident Karae Lisle has been named the Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. new Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors.

“During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead PVI than Karae Lisle,” said Anna Marie Janky, President and Chair of the Board of Directors. “Karae is a proven leader with outstanding nonprofit leadership skills, business vision, and the ability to bring people together. Her vision for how PVI will advance in serving seniors is exactly what our community needs as the organization enters its next chapter of expanded services and growth.”

Lisle, whose appointment became effective February 1, is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in both private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining PVI, Lisle led Shelter Network where she successfully spearheaded the merger with InnVision and became the CEO of the newly combined organization, InnVision Shelter Network. The merger resulted in the formation of the leading provider of homeless shelter and services across the Peninsula and Silicon Valley.

“Peninsula Volunteers is one of those exceptional nonprofits to have truly revolutionized the way a community regards its seniors — the people that built the community,” said Lisle. “I couldn’t be more honored to have been chosen to lead this esteemed organization.

“The opportunity ahead for PVI is substantial, but to seize it, we must focus clearly, move thoughtfully and continue to transform. A big part of my job is to respect the organization’s tradition and history, while balancing innovation to lead the sector in honoring our older adults.”

After a successful career in customer-facing leadership positions in the high tech sector, Lisle transitioned to the nonprofit sector. Her longstanding community service includes work with homeless families, battered women’s shelters, Special Olympics, and the Girl Scouts of America. She currently serves on three nonprofit boards: The Harvard Business School Tech Alumni Association, the Center for Employment Training, and Mercado Global. As an adjunct professor at both the University of San Francisco and San Jose State University, she taught graduate students earning their master’s degrees in business and engineering. Karae holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems.
