Peninsula Volunteers

If you are planning to attend the “Little House” Open House in Menlo Park on April 25, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, you might want to wear your workout clothes, bring your dance shoes, and pack your yoga mat.

Peninsula Volunteers want to show the community that the Little House, Roslyn G. Morris Activity Center is more than just a place for older adults to meet and socialize,” says PVI’s CEO Karae Lisle. “Our facility has a lot of great energy not only for seniors, but for people in their fifties and sixties — and younger! The key to growing older is to stay mentally and physically active, and Little House offers dynamic lifestyle activities in the form of language classes, Pilates, dance lessons and many other workshops.”

Lisle says she wants to change the way the community thinks about the activity center. The Stanford Alumni Consulting Team recently completed a strategic review and analysis of the facility and programs. Consequently, the Open House event will illustrate to community members that Little House offers a wide range of activities and services for everyone “right here in Menlo Park.”

The Open House will feature demonstrations in dance, exercise, music, ceramics, watercolor, and computer instruction in MS Word and Skype — participation is encouraged during the Open House. Representatives from medical associations will also be on hand to provide information and offer blood pressure testing. Food and refreshments will also be offered.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Little House Courtyard, generously supported by Merv and Roselyn Morris and John Arrillaga, which is now available for venue rentals: parties, corporate events and other social functions.

The Little House. Roslyn G. Morris Activity Center is located at 800 Middle Ave. in Menlo Park.
