Otters invade West Menlo neighborhood

Police barricades were put in place this morning to contain the hundreds of otters scampering about the streets west of Olive St. and south of Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park this morning, all participants in the 16th annual 5K Otter Run and Family Fun Run, a fund raiser for the Oak Knoll School PTO. As usual the event, organized by parent volunteers, had a decidedly family feel, with moms and dads pushing strollers of Otters to be and youngsters discovering just how far even 2.5K actually is.
