Busy summer of construction at Oak Knoll School wraps up

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on August 3, 2010

You know you’re at the end of a lengthy construction process when the landscaping arrives as it did at Oak Knoll School at the end of last week. The new fourth and fifth grade classroom and multi-purpose buildings are complete, and the summer months have meant tying up of loose ends and smaller renovations.

These include removal of all portable classrooms (done!), demolition of the old 5th grade wing, construction of a new play field, running track and playground (looking very much like a work in progress), remodel of the science room, replacement of doors and windows, and conversion of the present kitchen to storage spaces. Now that it’s August 2, the clock really begins to tick. School starts on Tuesday, August 24.
