Spotted: The Daily Wamp in news racks

by Linda Hubbard on August 16, 2010

There’s a new daily (M-F) newspaper in town, launched by Gentry publisher Sloane Citron with the promise of being “the community newspaper written by the community.” The 16-page tabloid is targeting residents living in Woodside, Atherton, Menlo Park and Portola Valley (hence the name, WAMP) and advertisers serving their needs. It’s available free in news boxes located around the four towns. Writes editor Ashley Stewart in the paper’s feature story on page one: “The Daily Wamp aims to provide quality over quantity, personalization over generalization, and thoroughness over indifference through consistent, organized and principled work ethics exemplified in every facet of our publication. We are doing things differently, and that just might make us great.”
