It’s an eggplant bonanza at Menlo Park Farmers Market

We hit the Menlo Park Farmers Market early this morning, and the folks from Lucero Organic Farms (Lodi, CA)  were just put the finishing touchings on an amazing display of eggplants. With Ben Lucero’s help, we identified nine varieties – Thai Green, Lustada de Gandia, Ping Tung Long, Rosa Blanca, Black Beauty, Long Purple, Millionaire, Clara White, and Turkish Orange. Eggplant season stretches from July to first frost, so may be nearing the end. If the wide choice sparks a yen to do a little eggplant cooking, you’ll find over 3,000 recipes from 60 cuisines at Ashbury’s Aubergines.
