International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, Oct. 6

Menlo Park and Atherton students who attend Las Lomitas and La Entrada are being urged to hoof it to school this Wednesday, as part of International Walk to School Day. Last year, U.S. participation reached a record high with 3,300 registered events from all 50 states. The Walk to School website provides a tool to help parents and educators find safe routes to schools. Organizers say walking or biking to school both enhances the health of kids and improves air quality and the environment.
