Monthly birding events coming to Bedwell Bayfront Park

Friends of Bedwell Bayfront Park will be holding monthly birding events at the park this winter, usually on the second Saturday of the month, beginning October 9.
These are very informal activities for people who have an interest in looking at and learning about the birds that come down the Pacific Flyway to winter in the San Francisco Bay but who may not know a lot about birds. We bring a spotting scope for really close-up looks at ducks, egrets and perhaps a perched hawk, as well as extra binoculars and bird field guides in English and Spanish. Families are welcome. Bring a jacket as it is often windy. Heavy rain cancels the birding event.
This Saturday (10/9) a Friends of Bedwell Bayfront Park volunteer will be there starting at 10.30 am for a couple of hours. Meet along the entrance road, by the tidal pond on the right. Bedwell Bayfront Park is at the end of Marsh Road at the Marsh Rd/Bayfront Expressway intersection.
