by Linda Hubbard on November 4, 2010

An adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is being performed by the Menlo-Atherton High School Thespians at the school’s Performing Arts Center beginning this evening, Thursday, Nov. 4 (half price night!).

Adapted by Jon Jory, the play is directed by D.J. Zwicker-Sobrepena and Ali Candlin. Reports M-A Bear Notes:  “Let yourself be swept away with the charming wit of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Find yourself welcomed into the Bennet’s home where the subject of marriage is inescapable.  Follow the misadventures of Mrs. Bennet and her five daughters as they meet the eligible gentlemen of Hertfordshire, England on a quest to find a suitable match.  See how Elizabeth overcomes all obstacles and harsh, first impressions to discover true love.”

Additional evening performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6 and Nov. 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm. In addition, there’s a 2:00 pm matinee on Saturday, Nov. 13. Tickets are $12 adults; $8 for students, staff and senior citizens. For ticket information, visit the Drama Boosters website.
