Menlo bakers offer special Thanksgiving desserts

Two Menlo Park-based baked goods companies are offering Thanksgiving treats.

Ipies, normally for sale only at the Palo Alto farmer’s market on Saturdays will be available in Menlo on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at a “pop up” store in the Studio Cake space. Owner Patricia Cline says that she’ll be taking orders through Thursday, Nov. 18 (preorders only). All ipies are $5; choice includes classic apple, apple cranberry and single crust pumpkin. More information, including how to order, is available on ipies website.

Angel Heart Cakes bakers Debbie Umphreys and Chris Rivera are  steaming and pureeing Cinderella Pumpkins and adding traditional seasonings to make Pumpkin Angels, which are drizzled with a light maple glaze.  They are also baking a Cranberry-Orange Angel which is flavored with lots of orange-peel, orange juice and orange extract with fresh cranberries.  Both options can be dressed-up with a little whipped cream.  For those who prefer individual cupcakes, they are baking pumpkin cupcakes with a cream-cheese frosting in mini or standard size.

Angel Heart Cakes are available at Sigona’s in Palo Alto and Redwood City, Bianchini’s in Ladera shopping center, and Roberts in Woodside. You can also place an order through the website; cakes can be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 24, between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
