Local Dungeness crabs arrive at Cook’s Seafood

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on November 17, 2010

For those of us who grew up in Menlo, there was no better day that the one in mid-November when our mothers would come home after picking up first of the season Dungeness crabs from Cook’s Seafood (a Menlo mainstay). The fishing boats set sail on Monday but today was the first day that the tasty crustacean was available to purchase. Said Cook’s market manager Steve Whitaker: “We’ve done some sample tasting and we’re happy with the flavor. So far they’re medium in size, although that can change daily. It looks this this year’s crab season is off to a good start!”
