Call it a chocolately and yammy morning at Menlo Park farmers market
Folks stocking up for their Thanksgiving dinner this morning at the Menlo Park farmers market only had to put up with some occasional sprinkles – the heavy rain of yesterday over, at least for the moment.
Making her seasonal appearance at the market was Her Coconess aka Shelley Seward, the locally-based confectionaire. She’ll be back on December 12 and 19, selling her line of natural confections – almond rocky road with cocoa nibs, chocolate dipped espresso caramels, chocolate dipped salted caramels and sea salt peanut brittle. Her chocolates recently were awarded a first place gold for best comfort chocolate product at the San Francisco International Chocolate Salon.
Also sighted at the market – baskets of yams and sweets potatoes. Plus we checked in with fisherman Pietro Parravano to get his thoughts on the just opened crab season. “We’re off to a great start,” he said. “It looks like it’s going to be a great season.”
