by Linda Hubbard on February 2, 2011

Inspirational/motivational Me to We speaker Spencer West is appearing at Encinal School on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7:00 pm. According to his bio, “Spencer West speaks candidly about the struggles he overcame after losing his legs at the age of five. He speaks about overcoming stereotyping and bullying, about finding meaning and happiness in a material world and how he never lost the hope or courage needed to mount personal obstacles. Infused with humor and humility, his thought-provoking message inspires people to find opportunity in every challenge…”

The event is part of Appreciating Our Difference Week, which also includes appearances at Oak Knoll and Encinal by both Spencer and Menlo Park resident Connie Tamaddon, author/creator of Surprising Silhouettes. The Wednesday evening event is open to members of the community, although organizers ask that you please RSVP to “rsvpforspencer@gmail.com” if you are attending.
