Creeping toward spring during a dry 2011

Only .7″ of rain this calendar year. November and December gave this area a solid start on a possible 20″ rainfall year. The days are now compressing, with that likelihood declining. This is another reminder of the variability of the rainfall season. I know that few would trade these sun swept days for rain filled ones, yet we need them. So, we are stuck at 10″. Last year at this time we were 14.3″. For those daylight folks we have added 60 minutes since the December 21st low of 9 hours 35 minutes.
