Bird walk at Bedwell Bayfront Park on Oct. 8

by Linda Hubbard on October 5, 2011

Migrating geese have arrived for their seasonal stopover at Bedwell Bayfront Park. These and other birds will be the focus of a walk led by the Friends of Bedwell Bayfront on Saturday, Oct. 8 beginning at 9:00 am. Docents will be there to answer questions about the ducks, egrets, hawks and other birds that make the Park their permanent or temporary home. Bring your own binoculars or look through the group’s scope. This family friendly event starts along the entrance road to the Park, which is located at the eastern most point of Marsh Rd. in Menlo Park. Heavy rain cancels the walk.

Been there, done that, so I can note that it’s a great family event and opportunity for all to see migrating birds at this time of year.

Try to build a detour into your Saturday plans to take this in. Never seen birds through a scope? This opportunity is for you, too!
