Spotted: Cook’s Dan Dowler cracking Dungeness crab

Just as he has been for 39 Dungeness crab seasons, Dan Dowler of Cook’s Seafood is cracking the crusty crustacean for eager buyers who’ve been waiting a couple of weeks for a price dispute to be settled. That happened on Monday (11/28) and commercial fisherman immediately got to work setting local crab pots. “We had fresh crab here the same day,” reports Dan. “We went out to get it ourselves in Santa Cruz, it’s so important to our business.”
