The mother/daughter duo of Maryanne Fernandez-Richardson and Danielle Fernandez reminded us that their Menlo Park Recreation Center studio, Dance Expressions, is entering its fifth season.

Maryann Fernandez_Dance Expressions“We have grown and expanded our offerings and now teach students ages three years to young adult,” emailed Dani. “With our growth, we now have two Performing Companies which travel to events around the Bay Area. This summer we even had a couple of performances in LA.  We’re excited about our expanded line up of classes and have new performance opportunities lined up and ready to go.”

Maryanne (photo right), who grew up in Menlo Park and attended Menlo-Atherton High School, believes that teaching locally allows her to pass on her knowledge to a the current generation of kids. Dani (top, shown with members of the Performing Company at the end-of-year Turn Up the Music performance) particularly enjoys choreography.

People interested in classes can visit the Dance Expressions website for a full listing of classes as well as information on how to sign up. A complete listing of Menlo Pard Recreation Department classes is available online.
