Project Read Menlo Park is recruiting new literacy tutors for Fall tutoring

by Linda Hubbard on September 15, 2013

Registration is underway for Project Read-Menlo Park’s next Tutor Training. Training begins Wednesday, October 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma Street. The training continues on Saturday, October 12, from 10 am to 3:00 pm. A final part of the training, on Wednesday, November 20, is a meeting for tutors who have started regularly working with students.

If you cannot attend the next tutor training session, we also have DVD and online training available.

Project Read-Menlo Park has been serving the Menlo Park community with a free library-based literacy program since 1985. Volunteer tutors are trained to work with adults to help them improve reading, writing, and oral pronunciation skills. Project Read is funded by the City of Menlo Park, California Library Literacy Services, Friends of the Menlo Park Library, and local contributions. For more information, call Project Read-Menlo Park at (650) 330-2525 or e-mail Roberta Roth at rlroth@menlopark.org.
