Sleep expert talks about changing patterns during adolescence at Hillview School tonight

Back by popular demand, local researcher and parent Dr. Devin Prouty, Ph.D.  is speaking tonight (11/4) at Hillview Middle School in Performing Arts Center from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The subject is “Sleepy Students: The Adolescent Circadian Shift. ”

This event is free and open to all neighbors in Menlo Park (thanks to Hillview PTO). Come for refreshments at 6:00. Free childcare will be provided for all potty trained children. No need to RSVP.

Dr. Prouty will be discussing practical strategies for dealing with adolescent sleep changes, and how to help your whole family get enough sleep. He will detail the biological mechanisms that affect sleep, biological changes that affect adolescent sleep patterns, the importance of sleep to overall health and academic achievement, and problems that are associated with insufficient sleep.
