Sheri Sobrato to speak at Children’s Health Council on December 8
On December 8, Children’s Health Council is hosting a wine and cheese discussion featuring Atherton’s Sheri Sobrato (pictured) as its special guest. We profiled Sheri in November.
Sheri will be talking about her book, Digging Deep: A Journal For Young People Facing Health Challenges, which is designed to provide emotional support to young people who face health challenges. During Sheri’s own battle with a brain tumor, she discovered that writing and journaling helped her unleash her own power to heal. Inspired to share her story to help children and teens in a similar situation, Digging Deep is a journal designed to gently guide children through the process of self-exploration through powerful words and vibrant images. Young people are empowered when they realize that that have found the answers within.
Children’s Health Council child development experts have found that these same techniques are equally compelling for children with learning challenges and behavioral health issues.
Sheri, Dr. Rosalie Whitlock and a panel of CHC experts will engage in conversation about this important topic during the free event, scheduled from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at Council headquarters, 650 Clark Way in Palo Alto. A complimentary copy of Digging Deep is included for attendees.
Please RSVP via Eventbrite.
