The Rotary Club of Menlo Park will host the 3rd annual food and wine fundraising event for its scholarship program on Wednesday, June 3, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Menlo College. Tickets are available online.

This year, the event is extended to be called “Taste of Menlo & beyond” to include restaurants beyond Menlo Park. Joya & La Strada in Palo Alto and Chef Chu’s in Los Altos are joining in the cause. Newcomers include Cocola Bakery, Lutticken’s, Mardini’s Deli Café, as well as award-winning Chef Bradley Ogden’s Bradley’s Fine Diner.

“We’re so excited to participate in this year’s Taste of Menlo & beyond event. It’s truly wonderful when one can gather with friends and family, enjoy great food and wine and together, as a community, support the Rotary Club of Menlo Park’s Scholarship Program,” said Chef Ogden.

Returning participants Galata Bistro, kuchenKULTUR, LB Steak, Left Bank, Sodexo, Sultana and Trellis complete the list of participating restaurants. Menlo College’s in-house caterer, Sodexo will be providing BBQ food items on an outdoor grill.

Domenico Winery, Michael Martella Wines, St. Amant Winery, Travieso Winery and Woodside Vineyards will be showcasing their wine offerings once again. The Willows Market will be providing wine and spirits also.

Another addition this year is live music featuring the SF Bay Jazz Ensemble. The group has performed internationally and locally at art and wine festivals, as well as charitable and corporate events over the last two decades.

The event also features a silent auction and a raffle for prizes including an iPad and a 40” TV. Major sponsors for the event are Menlo College, Facebook, Union Bank and Flegel’s Home Furnishings.

“We are grateful for all the generous restaurants, wineries, and entertainers that donate their time and all the food, wine and entertainment for the evening. We also thankful for our sponsors and silent auction donors for their support for our event.” said Rotary Event Chair, Michelle Tsui (pictured with Chef Ogden).

All proceeds from the event benefit the Rotary Club of Menlo Park Foundation’s Scholarship Program which awards need-based scholarships to qualified students at local high schools. This year, students from Menlo-Atherton High School, Sacred Heart Preparatory and Eastside College Preparatory School were awarded a total of $135,000 in scholarships.
