Local residents organize sign painting event in effort to end gun violence

Menlo Park residents Irene Searles and Barrett Moore are organizing a sign painting event to support an end to gun violence. They email: “If you feel the need to do something, so that gun violence and mass shootings are not accepted as the new normal, come join us and paint a sign for your house.
“Supplies and lettering assistance will be provided and ready to go. We will have several messages to choose from. [Sample sign shown in photo.]
“Please bring kids, spouses and/or friends. Our goal is to paint 100 signs for Menlo Park and the area.”
The event will take place on Saturday, December 12, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at 648 College Avenue in Menlo Park.
Editor’s note: If you’d like to help with set up or preparation, or if you would like to organize a sign painting party, email tips@inmenlo.com and we will make sure your message gets to Irene and Barrett.
