Best friends in soccer – and life – wrap up high school playing careers

by Linda Hubbard on February 15, 2016

There are two regular season games left in the Menlo-Atherton High School Girls’ Soccer season, and both games — tomorrow (2/16) and Thursday (2/18) — take place on the M-A campus at 4:00 pm. They will, in a sense, bring an end to era of soccer playing for seniors — and best friends — Talia Missan (#9) and Sarah McLeod (#5).

Starters since their freshman year, they started playing on the same team in Kindergarten AYSO when they were only 5 years old and have played together on the same team in AYSO, club soccer, and high school soccer every year over the last 13 years. Their club team is the MVLA ECNL U18 team, which is one of the top teams in the nation at the U18 level.

M-A girls soccer_then shot_secondEmails proud father Andy Missan: “Their dedication to soccer and school (and to each other) has been truly amazing over the years, with major sacrifices being made as they fly all over the country for soccer events while maintaining over 4.0 GPAs and preparing for collegiate soccer.”
