Throw Out the Checklisted Childhood is topic on 2/24

The next Menlo Park City School District Speaker series features author Julie Lythcott-Haims. Her topic is Throw Out the Checklisted Childhood. The talk will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 pm at Hillview Middle School.

Julie draws on her own insights as a mother and as a student dean to highlight the ways in which over-parenting harms children, their stressed-out parents and society at large. She offers practical strategies that underline the importance of allowing children to make their own mistakes and develop the resilience, resourcefulness and inner determination for success.
