Belle Haven Youth Center celebrates opening of new ADA-compliant playground
Approximately 14 years after its last renovation, the Belle Haven Youth Center playground has been modernized.
Last Wednesday, the Youth Center hosted a reception to celebrate the completion of its new ADA-compliant playground, allowing program participants to scramble around for the first time. With over 50 kids attending the youth center daily, the new structure will be better able to meet the demands of the program.
To encourage activity and outdoor play, Menlo Park funded the project through its Capital Improvement Program, and San Mateo County provided a small grant through the Community Development Block Grant as additional funding.
In addition to the Belle Haven playground, Menlo Park had been updating – and will continue to update – playgrounds all over the city.
